Reasons Why I Love Living in Milton...

With gas prices soaring, I've decided to enjoy the city we live in rather than driving to Pensacola for entertainment. Here are just a few reasons why I love Milton.

1. The River Walk- Where else can one go and have a stroll down the beautiful Blackwater River, stop and remember the sacrifice our military pays at the Memorial, and enjoy live music on the 3rd Saturday of every month during the summer? The one and only River Walk.
2. The Liberty Cafe- AMAZING diner, the food is wonderful, the atmosphere is great and the prices can't be beat. They have a daily special for $5.95 you can have a sandwich, potato salad, and a drink - Add a piece of homeade apple pie with ice cream for just $2.95
3. Polkadots- This one of a kind toy store is a great find and I'm sure you will see it on the Travel channel at some point. It is a high end store that specializes in unique toys that can't be found at Wal-Mart or Target. Every Thursday they have story time for all of the kiddos. Something special about them... Fudge. They make fudge everyday in the store and the aroma makes it hard to resist. They are also available for birthday parties. Now, what child wouldn't want to have a party in that kind of atmosphere? When Lilli gets a little older we'll be having her party there.
4. Manning's Feed N Seed/Meat Processing. - This year we have really been trying to eat better, natural foods. We now buy a quarter of a cow and have it butchered and then eat on it for several months. This way you pay $2.60 per lb and get all the tbone, porterhouse, roasts and ground beef you can handle. Also you get to skip all of the growth hormones and preservatives that are added to the beef sold in grocery stores. Also- this business has been in Milton for a very long time, passed from one generation to another and they are all just as sweet as can be. If you need anything camo- go into the feed n seed.
5. The RiverWalk Market- This is another one about eating healthy. A lot of local farmers sell fresh produce here. They are open 3 days per week and have great prices. I like supporting local farmers and it is nice to talk to the people that actually grow your dinner. If you have any questions about the best way to cook something or what type of organic pesticide to use- you have the opportunity to talk to experts.
6. The Milton Bike Trail- Over 7 paved miles only for those on bikes that want to get exercise and enjoy the beautiful outdoors. There is so much wildlife that one is able to enjoy.
7. Fine Things- This store is great. So much variety and friendly faces and free gift wrapping. I just love going in there!

Those are my top reasons why I love Milton... I'll post more as I think of them. I think that it is important to support our local businesses. Shop Milton, Dine Milton, Enjoy Milton.

Lilli & Nick's First Trip to the Park

Saturday we went to Carpenters Park for the first time. Lilli and Nick loved the swings, slide, and feeding the ducks. It is unbelievable how much the park has changed since I was little. It was also a very surreal feeling, thinking about how I played at that park when I was little and now my baby can play there. Also, Nick now wears his bib like a superman cape :) and Lilli took her bow out of her hair just before we made it to the park. Our babies have minds of their own.

New Camera~

So Daniel bought me a new camera and a new lens and these are pictures from the day we got it.... I love my new toy!

Cook Images

Last Month, my good Friend Hara Cook (of Cook Images) took some pictures of Lilli. Here is just a very small sample of the great shots she got. I have yet to order my pictures because there were 60 images and I want atleast 20 of them to hang on my wall. The very top picture is my absolute favorite and I'll be ordering a huge picture to hang on my dining room wall. I'll post pictures when I get them hung.
